At Batford Nursery School we place high importance on the value of play as the most effective way in which young children learn.  Our highly qualified and experienced staff plan a broad and balanced curiculum, based on their observations of children’s play using their interests and facinations to plan next steps for learning and development.

The principles which guide our work under the Early Years Foundation Framework are:

  • A Unique Child
  • Positive Relationships
  • Enabling Environments
  • Learning and Development

We follow the guidelines set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage document, which is the national statutory framework for all children aged 0-5.  Learning and development in the framework focuses on seven areas of learning. Follow the link to find out more.
